McDonald's Pakistan teamed up with StarCharge through a cooperation agreement led by Managing Director Jamil Mughal, StarCharge Global CEO Li Hongqing, and Pakistan CEO Omar Malik. The alliance plans to install electric vehicle charging stations at appropriate restaurant locations across the country.
Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain expressed support for the deal between the fast-food network and the charging provider.
Patrons will be able to plug in their electric cars while eating, which offers practical value during visits. Merging a meal stop with car charging improves efficiency and integrates electric mobility into daily routines.
The alliance also builds up green infrastructure within Pakistan. Wider access to charging promotes eco-friendly transport, cuts down reliance on traditional fuels, and aids national goals for sustainability, cleaner air, lower emissions, and economic resilience.
The accord was signed in Islamabad on October 19, 2026. Both companies will evaluate prospective sites according to technical needs, infrastructure, and commercial viability prior to rolling out the project.
