Pakistani consumers can now see the iPhone Duo's price instantly, as Mercantile, Apple's authorised distributor in Pakistan, disclosed local rates for the foldable device, beginning at Rs. 899,999 for the 256GB variant.

The Duo represents Apple's inaugural foldable iPhone. It was unveiled on September 9, pre-orders began on October 16, and shipments started on October 23.

When unfolded, the phone reveals a 7.6-inch inner display, the largest ever on an iPhone, while a 5.4-inch outer screen handles daily tasks. Its wider layout compared with earlier vertical-style foldables favours video consumption. The inner screen incorporates an under-display camera, and both panels support the Apple Pencil.

  • Chip: A20 Pro, identical to the iPhone 18 Pro line, paired with Apple's C2 modem; the device uses only eSIM.
  • Cameras: dual 48MP sensors, a primary and an ultra-wide lens offering 2x optical zoom; no telephoto lens is included.
  • Design: thickness measures 5.2mm when opened, making it the thinnest iPhone to date, and 11.3mm when folded; weight is 254 grams. The hinge is built from grade 5 aluminium, and a nanotexture coating lessens the visible crease.
  • Battery: Apple states the outer display can deliver up to 44 hours of video playback.
  • Security: Touch ID resides in the side button, with Face ID omitted; the phone can also be unlocked via an Apple Watch.

All units have PTA approval and include a one-year official Apple warranty, a significant factor for a first-generation foldable where hinge durability and authorised service matter. The 2TB version is Rs. 490,001 pricier than the base model.

Mercantile has a record of rapid launches; it released the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in Pakistan on day one, priced at Rs. 565,000 and Rs. 605,000, respectively, close to the global debut. The Duo follows that same swift rollout despite its higher cost.

Nauman Durrani, CEO Pakistan and SVP SAGE for Mercantile, said: "This milestone reflects our commitment to ensuring that customers in Pakistan experience the very best of Apple at the same time as the rest of the world. We remain focused on bringing the latest Apple innovations to our customers, without compromise."

Two consecutive launches featuring official pricing and PTA-approved inventory from the outset indicate that Pakistan is now receiving Apple products alongside the worldwide release, not after it. For purchasers, this provides an authorised channel for even Apple's most costly new handset.
