Microsoft has revealed the Xbox Nano Controller, a small gaming gamepad built for younger gamers, individuals with smaller hands, and players wanting a portable device.
The reduced-size peripheral maintains the traditional Xbox button configuration while shrinking the physical dimensions, allowing for easier transport during travel, visits to friends, or mobile gaming sessions.
Xbox Nano Controller Specifications and Features
Measuring slightly more than 5 inches in length and weighing only 3.5 ounces, or about 99 grams, the Xbox Nano Controller stands as Microsoft's most compact gamepad yet.
Even with the smaller build, the device keeps all 18 standard gameplay inputs present on regular Xbox controllers.
A rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button are also included. Players can map this button to common tasks like capturing screenshots or recording video footage.
Both Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth connections are supported by the controller. It links to compatible Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, iOS devices, Android devices, and supported smart TVs.
The small size also fits local multiplayer sessions well. Microsoft pointed to games like Minecraft Dungeons II, which allows cooperative play for up to four users.
Price and Availability
Costing $49.99 within the US, the Xbox Nano Controller is currently open for preorders via the official Microsoft website.
According to Microsoft, the gamepad arrives in November 2026 across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, China, Japan, and multiple nations in Europe and Latin America.
More areas will come later, though costs and release details might change depending on the market. Microsoft has not shared a release date for every territory.
Microsoft Is Also Offering Holiday Bundles
In the US, Microsoft is running holiday deals through collaborations with Meta and Samsung.
Customers purchasing qualifying Samsung TVs obtain an Xbox Nano Controller and a two-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate trial for first-time subscribers.
A comparable package comes with qualifying Meta Quest headsets.
