Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry confirmed that payouts are running late for certain residents impacted by construction in Islamabad areas E-12 and C-16, noting that the interior minister will address these grievances.

During a Thursday National Assembly meeting, Chaudhry addressed a calling-attention notice regarding homes and graveyards being torn down without payment.

Multiple areas remained undeveloped for years following their initial allotment, according to the minister, who noted that the Capital Development Authority assigned a distinct member to manage sector growth and distribution.

Chaudhry stated that plot possession reached 90 per cent completion in E-12, whereas sector C-16 started back in 2008 with the bulk of its construction and distribution already finished.

Three legal frameworks underwent changes over the last two years, and the minister stated that C-16 contained roughly 1,000 houses at takeover, though over 3,000 more appeared later allegedly to secure payouts.

Regarding graveyard complaints, Chaudhry explained that Islamabad deals with major difficulties concerning burial sites, pointing out that E-12 contains eight cemeteries and every grave remains safe.

Furthermore, Chaudhry stated that 150 unauthorized housing projects sold plots originally set aside for educational institutions and parks.
