The National Database and Registration Authority recently addressed the procedure for issuing a B-Form to a child whose mother lacks a Computerized National Identity Card, according to statements from the agency.

Syed Shahabat Ali, a spokesperson speaking on a NADRA podcast, stated that the outcome relies on whether the mother previously received a CNIC.

The procedure proceeds without interruption if the mother possesses a CNIC but simply lacks the physical card. Officials can confirm her identity using her CNIC number or through fingerprint and other biometric scans.

Applications for a B-Form encounter obstacles when the mother never obtained a CNIC, because the family record demands complete information and paperwork.

Representatives from NADRA noted that mothers without a CNIC often lack a registered marriage as well. This absence can prevent the creation of a family number, thereby complicating the issuance of the child B-Form.
