Following a tip-off from an international intelligence agency, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency rescued a 13-year-old girl in Karachi who was allegedly targeted by an online network.

The NCCIA director stated that a group allegedly connected to the dark web assigned dangerous tasks to the child, beginning with instructions to poison and kill a cat.

The teenager received orders to inflict serious harm upon herself for her second task, but NCCIA officers arrived in time to stop her and notify her parents.

Investigators noted that the parents remained completely unaware of her internet usage and the perilous assignments she received.

Authorities are currently tracing the accounts that reached out to the girl to track down the network operators, while also examining if other children in Pakistan faced targeting by the group.

This rescue highlights worries regarding hidden online networks manipulating minors into dangerous acts, while ongoing investigations keep further suspect details withheld.
