The University of Health Sciences (UHS) will start receiving online applications on October 26 for public medical and dental college seats in Punjab that are reserved for students from other provinces and regions.
There are 214 MBBS and 38 BDS seats in total. Applicants from outside Punjab must apply directly via the online system. The allocation is:
- Islamabad: 26 MBBS and 4 BDS
- Azad Kashmir: 36 MBBS and 3 BDS
- Gilgit-Baltistan: 55 MBBS and 5 BDS
- Balochistan: 48 MBBS and 10 BDS
- Former FATA: 49 MBBS and 16 BDS
Applicants must have cleared the MDCAT 2026 and possess a valid domicile; provincial and regional authorities will verify the selected candidates.
In a separate notice, applications for MBBS seats in private medical colleges in Punjab open today (Friday). UHS set November 6 as the deadline for the 2026-27 session, with the first selection list to be released on November 18.
The admission schedule from UHS states that admissions will run through a centralized system under the Punjab government's policy. Applications for BDS seats in private dental colleges will be accepted from December 18 to January 1, 2027, and the first selection list will appear on January 13, 2027.
Punjab hosts 34 private medical colleges offering roughly 4,500 MBBS seats and 18 private dental colleges with 1,100 BDS seats. Candidates from all provinces and overseas Pakistanis may apply if they meet the criteria.
Merit will be computed from matriculation or equivalent (10%), FSc pre-medical or equivalent (40%), and the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) (50%).
Applicants need at least 55% in the MDCAT for MBBS and 50% for BDS, plus a minimum of 60% in FSc (pre-medical) or an equivalent exam. Selected students will have three days to pay fees and join their colleges.
UHS created separate portals for each programme: MBBS candidates should apply at privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk, while BDS candidates use privatebds.uhs.edu.pk. Applicants are urged to review fee structures, college locations and facilities before applying.
