Oppo announced the Pad Mini, an 8.8-inch OLED tablet equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, an 8,000mAh battery and a 5.46mm thin chassis. The device, priced at roughly $1,001, will be on sale starting October 29.
Design and Display
The Pad Mini sports a 2.5K OLED screen measuring 2520 × 1680 pixels and offers a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. Its matte surface aims to cut reflections and give a paper-like feel when used with a stylus. Peak brightness can reach up to 1,600 nits, though some reports note higher brightness in certain zones. Despite the large battery, the tablet remains only 5.46mm thick, allowing for one-handed handling.
Performance and Software
Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 built on a 3nm process, the Pad Mini runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and includes Wi-Fi 7 support. The high-end chipset together with the compact display is marketed for gaming, media consumption and productivity.
Camera and Battery
On the rear, a 13MP camera is paired with an 8MP front shooter for photos and video calls. The tablet houses an 8,000mAh battery and accepts 67W wired fast charging, a notable capacity for a device only 5.46mm thick.
Price and Availability
Oppo lists the Pad Mini at about $1,000. It will be sold in a single model featuring 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
