Rescue sources reported that a paraglider pilot died and another individual sustained injuries in a crash during the Thal Desert Jeep Rally in Jhang.
The incident happened close to Rehmatabad. Witnesses stated the paraglider caught fire right after taking off and then crashed. The pilot passed away on the spot, and medical treatment was given to the injured person.
Official accounts remained unclear on whether the injured person was on the ground or inside the paraglider during the crash. Authorities also withheld information regarding their medical condition.
Social media videos named the dead pilot as Qazi Zafar and stated he came from Peshawar, but officials have not verified his name or hometown.
Authorities have not yet determined what caused the fire. Early reports lacked an official explanation for why the aircraft ignited following takeoff.
