Police recovered more than one kilogram of narcotics, including crystal methamphetamine, known as ice, and cocaine, when they raided a Karachi bungalow associated with Azad Jakhrani, brother of PPP MNA Aijaz Jakhrani.

The operation, officials said, was launched after a suspect arrested with cocaine and ice named Azad as the owner of the drugs and claimed further supplies were kept at his residence.

Authorities noted that Azad was absent at the time of the raid and therefore could not be taken into custody. A case has been filed against him under narcotics law, though the accusations have yet to be proven in court.

In response, Aijaz Jakhrani said he had already distanced himself from his brother but emphasized that the property was a family home. He accused police of breaching the household's privacy during the raid.

The lawmaker added that he had alerted Sindh's home minister and the inspector general of police, requesting an inquiry into the raid and action against any misconduct.

Faryal Talpur, chair of the Sindh Assembly's Standing Committee on Home Affairs, also took note of the operation at the Jakhrani house and asked the provincial police chief for a report.
