TransPeshawar has dismissed social media rumors that Peshawar BRT buses are being transferred or stolen, clarifying that the viral clips actually display newly purchased vehicles being delivered to the city.

Officials explained that two separate videos were circulating with false narratives. The night-time recording dates to August 2026, while the daylight footage was shot in October 2026.

According to the transit authority, both recordings document the delivery of new buses bought for the BRT system this year, not the removal of existing ones.

The agency said it has procured 52 extra buses, with 25 already in Peshawar and the remaining 27 slated to arrive later this week.

When all the new units are in service, the total fleet size will rise to 296 buses.

This statement counters suggestions that the videos show Peshawar's buses being taken elsewhere, asserting the vehicles are coming into the city to expand its public transport fleet.
