The Punjab Information Technology Board partnered with COMSATS University Islamabad (Lahore Campus), the University of Education, Lahore, and the University of the Punjab, Lahore. Operating under the Chief Minister's Initiative, Makerspace Punjab, the board executed these Memoranda of Understanding to boost academia-industry cooperation, advance research, drive IT hardware creation, and support technology-focused product building.

Sajid Latif, who serves as PITB Director General e-Governance, finalized the agreements alongside university leaders. These leaders included Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Director of COMSATS Lahore Campus, Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Chaudhry, Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Lahore, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab, Lahore. Ahmad Islam Syan, PITB Director Skills Development, attended the event alongside staff from the Makerspace Punjab division and delegates from the schools.

Students, faculty, and academic researchers gain entry to specialized labs, technical guidance, instruction sessions, and prototyping workshops through these alliances.

These ties will additionally drive collaborative research projects, boost startup creation, share expertise, and connect scholarly studies with real-world market needs.

Faisal Yousaf, the PITB Chairman, remarked on the effort, saying, "Makerspace Punjab is an initiative of the Government of Punjab being implemented by PITB to strengthen the province's IT hardware innovation ecosystem through product design, rapid prototyping, and the local development of technology products."

He added, "These partnerships mark another step towards fostering a culture of innovation, supporting young talent, and advancing indigenous technology development in Punjab."
