Traffic will soon use the Rawalpindi Ring Road linking GT Road to the M-2 Motorway, following official orders to finish all pending construction by October 25.

Suleman Ghani, who serves as Rawalpindi Division Commissioner, stated that the government intends to open the route for citizens shortly. Relevant departments received orders to wrap up all final touches before the deadline.

Syeda Zeneb Hussain, Gujar Khan Assistant Commissioner, inspected the beginning of the Ring Road at Banth Mor to check on planting trees and other pending tasks. She instructed staff to make sure the undertaking is fully prepared for public access and its official opening by October 25.

Raja Jawaid Ikhlas, a PML-N MNA and former Rawalpindi district nazim, mentioned that authorities first planned the project in 2015 while the PML-N held power. He thanked the Punjab government and the chief minister for supplying funds to bring the construction near the end.

According to Ikhlas, the Ring Road gives overseas Pakistanis traveling from Gujar Khan, Kallar Syedan, Jhelum, Mirpur, and Dadyal simpler routes to Islamabad International Airport.

He also noted the road will decrease heavy vehicles in Rawalpindi and enhance regional connections.

The route extends through Taxila, Rawalpindi, and Gujar Khan tehsils, and officials anticipate it will increase business, aid local financial systems, and better daily living standards nearby.
