Technology-focused private equity firm AshreiTech announced a strategic investment in Pakistani cybersecurity company Digit Labs (Di8it) today, expanding its technology portfolio and providing the firm with capital and market access to grow within Pakistan and internationally.
This transaction marks the first investment in Pakistan for the United States-based firm, representing a major move in its expansion away from the American market and into one of the fastest-growing technology economies in South Asia.
Organizations throughout Pakistan are speeding up their digital transformation efforts while facing a steep increase in cyber attacks, prompting the new funding. Enterprises in regulated sectors like banking, government, and telecommunications need security at a high level, creating a market that Digit Labs is positioned to head.
Established in 2015, Digit Labs provides defensive, offensive, advisory, and managed security offerings alongside Gartner-recognized solutions, concentrating on agentic MXDR and agentic SOC by combining expert analysts with human-guided AI agents. The partnership provides Digit Labs with financial backing, market access, and strategic support to scale its operations, while AshreiTech adds a dependable security capability to its technology assets.
The deal allows AshreiTech to expand its footprint in the cybersecurity sector and integrate an experienced security team into its holdings. The private equity firm collaborates with executive teams to build long-term value and found that Digit Labs possessed strong technical skills and backing from major Pakistani institutions that were prepared for expansion.
"Pakistan's digital economy is growing fast, and so is the need for world-class cyber defense; Digit Labs has the engineering depth and client trust to lead that market, and we're investing to help them scale," said Rahim Iqbal, General Partner, AshreiTech.
"AshreiTech's backing is a strong endorsement of what our team has built since 2015, giving us the capital and reach to protect many more organizations across Pakistan," said Abbas Rajani, CEO, Digit Labs.
