Tandoor proprietors and locals express frustration over soaring LPG expenses, which have compelled many tandoor owners to increase roti charges themselves.

Roti now sells for Rs 17 to Rs 20 across several neighborhoods. Owners argue that LPG, which ought to be Rs300 per kg, is being offered at arbitrary prices, with some paying as high as Rs600 per kg, making the hike unavoidable.

Citizens counter that whether it is LPG or roti, the administration and government must regulate prices. They allege that self-imposed increases let every shopkeeper set any price, adding to the burden on an inflation-hit public.

Residents have appealed to price-control magistrates and the deputy commissioner to enforce official rates and curb price rises.
