Government representatives met with delegates from two British universities to consider joint academic initiatives with Pakistani colleges, including possible ties with the University of Hertfordshire and the University for the Creative Arts.

A team headed by The Millennium Universal College (TMUC) chief Faisal Mushtaq, together with Professor Anthony Woodman of the University of Hertfordshire and Professor Lyndsay Duthie of the University for the Creative Arts, travelled to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in Islamabad to talk about cooperation prospects.

The conversations centred on forming institutional connections, sharing academic know-how and examining collaborative options between Pakistani and UK schools.

The University of Hertfordshire provides courses in many subject areas, whereas the University for the Creative Arts focuses on disciplines such as architecture, fashion, graphic design, fine art, photography, film and media.

While the meeting looked at possible routes for international academic partnership, the statement noted that no concrete agreements, programmes or funding pledges were disclosed.

This dialogue formed part of broader attempts to link Pakistani educational bodies with overseas partners and broaden cooperation in the sector.
