YouTube Music is introducing new "Made with AI" labels to let listeners know when a track includes generative artificial intelligence.

Artists have already employed generative AI for music creation, yet fans may not always be aware of AI involvement.

AI Labels Appear on the Music Player

Tracks that contain AI-generated composition or vocals will show an AI label on the YouTube Music player page.

By tapping the label, users can access further information about the song.

The rollout of these labels begins on YouTube Music today and will reach the main YouTube app shortly thereafter.

YouTube Is Using Detection Tools

YouTube says it employs its own detection technology to spot AI-generated music.

The platform is also collaborating with music-industry partners to identify songs that contain AI-generated material.

This labeling system aims to give listeners clearer information about the use of generative AI in the music they hear.
