Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff walked away uninjured on Sunday evening after unknown gunmen targeted his vehicle with multiple gunshots in the Juhu neighborhood of Mumbai.
According to reports, the attack happened when Shroff departed from a football field close to Pushpa Park in Juhu. Footage of the event soon spread online, capturing local panic and the sound of gunfire.
Law enforcement in Mumbai verified that a shooting occurred under the watch of the Juhu Police Station. Authorities stated that Shroff remained safe and sustained no bullet wounds.
Tiger Shroff's Driver Injured
Unidentified assailants discharged firearms at the actor's car as he drove away from the sports ground, sources stated.
Medical care was provided to his driver, who sustained injuries during the attack. Additional accounts indicated that another bystander also got hurt in the incident.
Early accounts varied regarding how many bullets were discharged. Certain sources stated three to four rounds went off, whereas others claimed up to seven shots.
Police Launch Investigation
Mumbai Police started a probe and set up several squads to track down the perpetrators.
Detectives are checking closed-circuit television recordings from nearby locations and interviewing witnesses to piece together the timeline.
An online post subsequently claimed responsibility for the assault on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Yet, law enforcement had not yet verified whether this claim was genuine or established any connection between the gang and the shooting.
Officials keep probing the underlying reason for the assault along with the identities of the culprits.
