Management expects the new vehicle manufacturing facility of BYD in Pakistan to start functioning by mid-December 2026, aiming for monthly sales between 1,000 and 1,500 units as manufacturing increases. This detail comes from a research note published by Topline Securities after the annual general meeting of Hub Power Company.
The publication issued on October 20 noted that the factory will rely fully on imported components and raw materials at first.
Plans are in place to raise local sourcing over time, aiming to source up to 80% of production inputs domestically to lower import dependence and enhance cost efficiency.
BYD plans to expand its model lineup in Pakistan
Company leaders stated that BYD will roll out new vehicle variants in stages, focusing on sectors capable of driving high sales volumes.
The firm also identifies potential within the local car market because younger consumers show greater readiness to swap vehicles faster than the conventional five to 10 year ownership timeframe.
Executives believe BYD can capture market share through strong vehicle quality and attractive pricing while growing its footprint in the country.
BYD arrived in Pakistan via a collaboration with Mega Motor Company, a firm linked to Hub Power Holdings. The alliance started bringing the Chinese brand's new-energy vehicles to domestic buyers in 2024, with vehicle deliveries to customers kicking off in 2025. The domestic assembly initiative aims to transition away from imported car dependence toward local manufacturing.
