The Capital Development Authority sent a notice to Amanullah, owner of Maulana Fazlur Rehman's Islamabad residence, giving 15 days to clear alleged encroachments before the authority intervenes.
What the notice identifies
The notice demands removal of structures and equipment occupying a green area on the property and lists three specific violations:
- A security guard cabin constructed in the green area, which the CDA has ordered to be taken down.
- A generator placed in the green area, also required to be removed.
- A kitchen at the residence that the authority says breaches building regulations.
The CDA set a 15-day deadline for clearing these encroachments and warned it will enforce the removal itself after that period.
Minister calls it routine enforcement
State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry said the notice is a standard part of the anti-encroachment drive across the capital and added that religion or politics should not be invoked to justify illegal actions.
