After a 15-year absence, EA Sports has officially revealed that the legendary boxing franchise Fight Night is returning. The developer has not released a new version of the popular series since Fight Night Champion in 2011. While past rumors hinted at a revival, recent updates suggested plans for a reboot had been scrapped.
The verified EA Sports Fight Night account on X shared that the franchise is making a comeback, posting, "To everyone who stayed in our corner: Fight Night is coming back." The profile description was also updated to state, "Back into the ring. The fight is never over."
Supporters expressed immediate enthusiasm online. One user posted, "LFG. I'm ready. I remember waiting in the midnight release Senior year of college. Taking the day off for this one." Another stated, "Gaming is alive and well..."

A third supporter wrote, "WHAAAT! I've been waiting years for this." A fourth commented, "Been with this series since day one, I'm now 50 and this just made me yell in excitement lmao."
The announcement follows the purchase of EA Sports by the Saudi-backed Public Investment Fund, which finalized a £41 billion agreement for the developer in August. The decision to bring back Fight Night aligns with the nation's heavy financial involvement in boxing.
Sela, a Saudi-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, has supported major boxing events. The firm funded massive bouts including Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford, Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn, and Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua.
Turki Alalsheikh's Ring Magazine shared the announcement on X as well. Alalsheikh leads Saudi boxing productions and drives the country's influence in the sport via Riyadh Season.
This announcement arrives on the heels of Undisputed, another boxing title that secured exclusive licensing for athletes like Mohammad Ali, Oleksandr Usyk, and Deontay Wilder. However, Yahoo reports that the upcoming Fight Night titles will focus heavily on boxers associated with Zuffa Boxing and Alalsheikh.
