Eleven relatives, including women and children, were admitted to hospital after allegedly drinking contaminated milk supplied under the Punjab government's Chief Minister's Milk Program, Dawn reported.

The episode occurred in Khichiwala, where the family said the milk had been delivered to Government Girls Primary School (GGPS) 186/7-R for students.

Police records indicate the family became sick after ingesting the milk and were taken to a hospital while semi-conscious.

A video circulating online shows Abdul Sattar, one of those affected, stating his daughter brought the milk home from school and that the whole family fell ill after drinking tea made with it.

He called on authorities to check whether the milk was expired or contaminated and to hold those responsible accountable.

Nevertheless, a report from the Fort Abbas district education officer dated October 21 noted that 132 of the school's 155 enrolled pupils drank the milk without any reported sickness.

The same document said 119,915 students across the district consume milk under the scheme daily, with no food-poisoning cases recorded so far.

The family also claimed that officials from the education or health departments have not contacted them to arrange milk testing.

Chief Executive Officer (Education) Dr. Attaur Rehman said an inquiry found no problems with the milk's quality and that the cartons the family possessed bore an expiration date of January 12, 2027.
