Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed and Culture Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah officially reopened a historic church in Kotri, located within the Jamshoro district, on Monday after a provincial government-backed restoration project worth Rs30 million.

"The restoration has preserved the church's original architectural features," Naveed said.

The structure was originally constructed in 1846 and first opened to the Christian community of Jamshoro on December 22 of that same year. Naveed stated that the undertaking demonstrated the provincial administration's dedication to peaceful coexistence, religious harmony, and tolerance.

According to the culture minister, the repairs finished prior to Christmas in order to support the local community.

The site, commonly called the Kotri Railway Line Church because it sits near the Kotri railway junction, is listed among 3,200 heritage locations across the province. Work on the building began in December 2025 and required approximately nine months to finish.
