Following a roof collapse at a private school in Peshawar, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government instructed officials to inspect school buildings throughout the province.

District education officers received orders from the Elementary and Secondary Education Department to check reports, photographs, and videos depicting potentially dangerous school facilities and address safety hazards right away.

Authorities need to halt classes inside structures deemed unsafe and relocate pupils to adjacent schools or alternative safe sites. Classes may restart only after finishing required fixes and securing safety approval from the appropriate technical agency.

The department additionally instructed officials to place repairs first and request technical evaluations for facilities exhibiting severe structural flaws.

Every district is required to send reports outlining checks, hazardous structures, halted classes, student transfer plans, and fixing actions by 12 noon on October 21, 2026.
