Infinity Ward confirmed via social media that the popular Shipment multiplayer map will launch in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Tuesday, October 27, just days after the full midnight Eastern release on Friday, October 23, which followed early access availability on current-gen platforms.

The Iconic Shipment Map Returns in Modern Warfare 4

Infinity Ward first released Shipment in 2007 within Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, setting the map in a shipping yard near Chernobyl, Ukraine. Initially built as a testing environment, the small layout became famous for fast-paced combat that lets players sprint across the area in seconds, often resulting in immediate respawn deaths and divided community opinions.

The full release features 20 maps, including Sentry, Kill Block, and Rooftops, with Shipment raising the total to 21 next week while supporting all Core and Hardcore modes like Team Deathmatch, Collateral, and Inflation.

Players downloading today's required patch before accessing multiplayer will find major changes based on Beta feedback, including a new Proving Grounds combat training course and weapon system adjustments that make SMGs effective for close and mid-range fights.

Fast Progression and Weapon Camos

Because Shipment retains its tight layout, players use the map to quickly earn Weapon XP, cosmetics, and gun camos, which now depend on weapon level instead of headshot totals.

Gamers can unlock special weapon camos independently from standard military camos and apply them to any weapon, such as earning the Smoke Camo by getting 75 mounted weapon kills in DMZ or 20 kills in standard multiplayer.

Early access buyers earned a head start by boosting Player, Weapon, and Rank XP through DMZ, allowing faster unlocking of multiplayer modes as the full game launches.
