National Accountability Bureau Chairman Lieutenant General (retired) Nazir Ahmed Butt informed reporters on Monday that the agency has pulled back government assets valued at Rs. 14.6 trillion throughout 2026, and prepares to confront anti-state power plants.

Monday saw the publication of NAB's third-quarter performance report, showing that Rs. 9.18 trillion in assets were retrieved between July and September, bringing total recoveries to Rs. 26.1 trillion since March 2023.

Lieutenant General Nazir Ahmed Butt stated that these retrieved holdings feature 235,622 kanals of Pakistan Railways property worth Rs. 6.78 trillion alongside 866,299 acres from provincial departments valued at Rs. 2.395 trillion.

The chairman mentioned that the agency launched federal power-sector proceedings and will target illegalities tied to power plants, describing it as a massive task while noting that NAB stands prepared to confront influential parties.

The head of the bureau added that NAB refuses to hold any more tariff talks and finished all groundwork regarding power-sector issues.

Specific power plants or exact charges against them were not disclosed publicly by the chairman.
