The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) warned social media users that anti-state posts, messages and online harassment are being actively monitored by its cyber patrolling unit.
"You are not clicking alone," Additional Director of the NCCIA Atif Ameer said in a press briefing.
Atif explained that the agency has three main priorities, following a clear directive from its Director General: call centre operations, anti-state content, and online harassment.
The official stated that anti-state tweets and messages will not be tolerated and that the agency is actively scanning social media platforms to locate such material.
He added that the NCCIA's cyber patrolling unit is conducting surveillance across various social media apps and that anyone posting anti-state content could face action.
The official also cautioned users against harassing people online, targeting women, or publishing defamatory content about others on Facebook and other platforms.
He reiterated that these three areas are the agency's key priorities, emphasizing that social media users cannot use online platforms to violate others' dignity or harass them.
