Spain international winger Nico Williams, 24, disclosed that he declined a move to Arsenal despite the club's interest in 2024.
The player was also on the radar of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, but twelve months later he committed to a ten-year deal with his hometown side Athletic Bilbao.
Williams said, "I've never doubted being here. I've had countless offers, I could have left, but I was clear about staying." He added, "My intention to be here is beyond question. I told Barca, Arsenal, PSG, and many others 'no' because I want to be here."
The statements came after his agent Felix Tainta suggested last week that Williams had considered a Barcelona offer but turned it down over concerns about playing time.
Williams refuted that narrative, insisting the long-term contract demonstrates his loyalty to Athletic Bilbao.
Arsenal had pursued the Spaniard after his performances at Euro 2024 and revisited interest the following year, but Williams signed his new deal instead.
The Gunners remain without a marquee left winger after failing to secure Morgan Rogers or Vinicius Junior this summer.
