Pharmacy Council of Pakistan officials started using body cameras during institutional checkups to improve oversight and verify that Doctor of Pharmacy programmes follow established rules.
A senior committee performed evaluation checks at Abasyn University and the Chak Shahzad campus of Iqra University, following special orders from the council president, to review facilities and check if previously noted shortcomings were fixed.
Dr. Tahir Chohan headed the inspection group, which also featured council secretary Dr. Nauman Rahim Khan alongside a representative chosen by the District Health Officer.
Checking institutional infrastructure, testing adherence to official mandates, and confirming whether past issues were resolved formed the main goals of these visits.
For the first time in council history, high-definition body cameras captured the entire inspection process live to boost accountability.
The council stated that this programme aims to drive openness, reduce subjective evaluations, and keep digital archives of all checks to back factual regulatory choices.
Pharmacy schools need to satisfy official academic and facility standards to protect public health and guarantee professional education quality, according to the council.
Officials confirmed their dedication to enforcing rules and penalizing schools that do not follow necessary guidelines.
This measure is part of wider operations to elevate pharmacy education standards nationwide and make sure future graduates train at approved facilities.
