A Senate sub-committee on Problems of Less Developed Areas, chaired by Senator Jan Muhammad Buledi, requested the government's full record of the 5,000 jobs announced under the Aghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan Package.

The panel asked for information on how the posts were created, how many vacancies have been filled and the present implementation status.

Officials from the Establishment Division and the Planning Division briefed members on the package's rollout, related development projects, fund allocation and use, employment prospects and progress of various schemes in Balochistan.

Convener Jan Muhammad said the package is a crucial initiative aimed at safeguarding the rights of the people of Balochistan, promoting development and addressing the sense of deprivation in the province.

He added that significant steps were taken during the Pakistan Peoples Party's tenure, but gaps in implementation prevented the desired outcomes.

The Planning Division reported development projects worth Rs348 billion for Balochistan and four projects under the Public Sector Development Programme.

Senator Dinesh Kumar expressed concerns over the data presented and urged that the committee receive accurate, verified figures.

The convener instructed authorities to provide comprehensive details of funds allocated under the package, total cost of each project, allocations per scheme and fund utilisation.

Senator Dinesh Kumar also demanded a complete list of all approved development projects, responsible departments and schemes for Balochistan, insisting the record should clearly show fund release, utilisation, completed work and progress on ongoing projects.
