Social media users recently raised questions about student registration for the Prime Minister Youth Chromebook Scheme in Sindh because the online application form does not currently list the province.

An official statement from the program clarified that applications for students based in Sindh will start once every examination board across the province releases the Class 9 annual examination results for 2026.

The announcement confirms that Sindh learners are not left out of the program permanently. Their sign-up period simply waits for the necessary exam scores to be officially published.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif introduced the project to hand out 500,000 Chromebooks to qualified and capable students throughout Pakistan. The effort wants to boost student access to digital learning tools, electronic libraries, and online educational content.

During the opening event, the prime minister stated that distribution relies strictly on merit and hard work. He additionally shared intentions to supply students with MiFi devices and bags for internet connectivity along with the laptops.

Authorities intend to hand out the equipment across a two-year period. The official notice reiterates that students located in Sindh will use the standard online portal to apply once all provincial examination boards finalize their Class 9 annual examination results for 2026.
