Pak Telecom Mobile Limited secured a pair of honors through its Ufone 5G brand at the Dragons of Asia Awards 2026. The company earned a Gold Dragon inside the competitive 'Best in Media' section for the 'Super 5' project, along with a Black Dragon within the 'Marketing Discipline' division for 'Babar Azam's Lost Phone' promotion. These achievements marked Ufone as the sole telecommunications provider from Pakistan to secure a Gold trophy during the event.
Excellence in marketing communications that produce results across the region is highlighted by the Dragons of Asia, which honor initiatives merging strategic vision, creative ideas, and strong delivery. The dual victory highlights Ufone capacity to turn buyer behavior into engaging brand connections that connect with viewers. Centered on the Super 5 plan, which lets users share data, calls, and text messages with four loved ones, the Gold-winning project featured TV host Tabish Hashmi alongside former cricket players Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq, and Saeed Ajmal from the 2009 ICC T20 World Cup winning team.
Beginning in February 2026, the marketing effort generated public intrigue via online teaser clips where the sports stars teased a secret selection, leading to rumors about a sports comeback. The final advertisement reversed expectations by featuring the athletes trying out for a spot in Tabish Hashmi personal Super 5 circle. Broadcast on local television networks and internet channels, the project drew attention from various online publishers and collected millions of digital views.
The Black Dragon recipient, titled 'Babar Azam's Lost Phone', advertised the company Weekly Grand Offer. Debuting in February 2025, it started when cricketer Babar Azam posted online that he misplaced his device and address book. The disclosure revealed a marketing stunt where Babar looked for his phone alongside supporters before introducing the bundle. The promotion quickly gained popularity among followers, attracted global attention, and reached over 10 million views. Both projects drove immediate online discussions as viewers guessed, reacted, and shared content from day one.
Syed Atif Raza, Chief Commercial Officer at PTML, stated, "We wanted our campaigns to be something people would talk about, not just watch. Our approach is to understand consumer behavior, challenge conventional thinking and back ideas that stand out. Having this work recognized at the Dragons of Asia is a proud moment for us, and it is encouraging to see locally developed ideas earn international recognition. It strengthens our ambition to take our work beyond Pakistan's borders. I commend the Brands and Media teams, and our agency partners, whose strategic thinking, creativity and execution brought these ideas to life."
The two trophies highlight the company ongoing dedication to marketing quality and projects balancing creativity and effectiveness, demonstrating how consumer understanding combined with humor and cultural context can turn product pitches into shared stories.
