British-Pakistani racer and motorsport entrepreneur Enaam Ahmed has obtained a Ferrari Driver Academy position for his protégé Daniel Miron Lorente, after a year of managing and coaching the young driver.
From karting success to Ferrari's academy
Lorente spent the past 12 months in Ahmed's driver development programme. Ahmed sealed the Ferrari deal after supervising that training period.
Their collaboration already yielded a championship win in this year's Champions of the Future series, an international karting event that gathers young talent worldwide.
A longer-term Formula 1 ambition
The Ferrari academy supports promising racers in advancing through global motorsport, including the path toward Formula 1. For Lorente, the agreement marks the next step in that journey.
Ahmed's longer-term goal is to steer Lorente through the racing hierarchy toward a possible chance to race for Ferrari in Formula 1, though the academy slot does not guarantee that outcome.
Ahmed builds on his own racing career
Ahmed has raced for both Pakistan and Britain on the international stage. He became Pakistan's first world karting champion and later won the British Formula 3 Championship.
His British Formula 3 record features 13 victories in a single season, surpassing a previous record held by Ayrton Senna. Securing the academy place for Lorente adds another milestone to Ahmed's shift from competing to developing other drivers.
