Bukayo Saka was presented with a prestigious accolade during the Ballon d'Or ceremony held at the London Palladium this evening.

The Arsenal forward received the Socrates Award, which recognises players who engage in extensive humanitarian work and demonstrate social responsibility.

Saka earned the honour for his long-term involvement with the BigShoe charity, a partnership that began three years ago after the deadly Morocco earthquake that killed almost 3000 people.

He contributed 50 container homes for families displaced by the quake and has since funded 120 life-changing operations for children across Africa, including in his parents' native Nigeria.

The winger also financed accommodation for families affected by the earthquake in Turkey.

Nigerian singer Burna Boy presented the award to Saka.
