Manchester United are reportedly looking at a surprise acquisition of Dominic Calvert-Lewin after Benjamin Sesko was ruled out with a persistent shin injury that will keep him out until the end of the year.

The injury to the Slovenian forward has left United with only Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo as senior strikers available.

The Athletic says the club is now assessing whether a move for Calvert-Lewin could fill the gap.

Calvert-Lewin, who joined Leeds on a free transfer after leaving Everton in 2025, netted 14 goals in 35 Premier League games for the Yorkshire side last season.

He has kept up his scoring form this campaign, adding four goals in eight appearances.

United's recruitment team is said to be checking if a transfer is possible.

Interest in Calvert-Lewin is not new; SunSport reported he was a target for United back in 2019.

Leeds are believed to be protective of the striker given his success at Elland Road, and a move is described as remote because the club wants to offer him a new contract.

Calvert-Lewin already scored against United this season, finding the net in a 1-1 draw earlier in the month.
