Foreign workers seeking accreditation cards in Uzbekistan must now meet an increased minimum monthly salary requirement of UZS 1,360,000, up from the previous level of UZS 1,271,000.

This updated threshold became active on September 1, 2026, marking a rise of UZS 89,000, which equals roughly 7%.

The adjustment stems from a presidential decree published on June 23, 2026, boosting the national minimum wage to UZS 1.36 million every month starting September 1.

That exact decree similarly boosted pay for workers in budget-funded institutions and raised student stipends by 7%.

Foreign personnel working in Uzbekistan at representative offices of international commercial entities receive accreditation cards.

Qualified foreign staff members can use these cards to work at accredited representative offices without securing separate work permits from the External Labor Migration Agency of the country, though this exemption is restricted strictly to employment within the accredited representative office.

Current rules state that accreditation cards last for up to 12 months and permit renewals, while their duration might be shorter based on the accreditation timeframe of the representative office or the authorization of the worker.

The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan processes these applications.

Overseas firms can request representative office accreditation via the digital government services portal of the nation, while requests for foreign worker accreditation cards undergo separate processing according to rules established in February 2024.
