An expert lipreader has uncovered the words Mikel Arteta directed at Max Dowman after the teenager received a red card against Fleetwood.
Dowman, aged 16, received a straight red card for lashing out at a player from the League Two club during their Carabao Cup fixture on Tuesday.
The teenager reacted to a heavy challenge from defender Harrison Neal by turning around and driving his leg into him.
Referee Michael Salisbury waited for a brief melee to calm down before showing the red card to the young player.
Mikel Arteta showed clear frustration on the sidelines, staring at Dowman while he walked off the pitch and directing stern words at him.
According to professional lipreader Nicola Hickling, working with Covers.com, the Arsenal manager told the winger, "Get in the changing room, Max."
The ten-man Gunners eventually lost on penalties in a major cup upset, with an 84-place gap separating the teams in the English football pyramid at Fleetwood's 5,300 capacity Highbury Stadium.
Sky Sports pundits focused on Arteta's reaction, with former Premier League player Jobi McAnuff stating, "I didn't like this at all. That didn't seem to be a normal reaction, it felt like there was a bit of an undertone."
Arsenal legend Paul Merson added, "You've got to remember he's 16, he's a kid. If that was Gyokeres, he's not doing that. But he does that to a 16-year-old kid. He's a talent, but also a human being. For me, I would have put my arm around him. For me, that's a classic moment. If Arteta could have that moment back, he'd do that different."
