Law enforcement authorities in Lahore detained an online motorcycle ride-hailing operator on allegations of harassing a female customer within the Johar Town neighbourhood, according to authorities.
The female passenger sustained various injuries across her face and arms after leaping from the active motorcycle when the driver supposedly tried to carry out an inappropriate action.
This event took place days ago following the victim's booking of a transport service originating from F-2 in Johar Town. Security camera recordings depicting her leaping from the travelling bike spread widely across online platforms on Monday evening, whereas the operator escaped the location.
Officers at the Nawab Town police station filed a first information report regarding the suspect based on a grievance submitted by the victim's brother.
The police report states that the driver bothered the rider throughout the trip even though she persistently demanded that he halt. A law enforcement representative mentioned that detectives located the accused individual, named Naeem, using the bike's license plate details and subsequently took him into custody.
