Apple may deliver minor improvements with the upcoming iPhone 18e compared to the iPhone 17e, based on fresh information from a Weibo leak. Given that Apple released the iPhone 17e in March 2026, the iPhone 18e might debut in spring 2027 to maintain a consistent launch pattern. Past reports indicated the device could debut alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2.

The leak indicates that the iPhone 18e will sport a 6.12-inch LTPS OLED screen operating at a 60Hz refresh rate. This suggests Apple intends to keep higher refresh rates exclusive to higher-end iPhone editions.

Under the hood, the smartphone is anticipated to run on Apple's A20 processor, reportedly manufactured using a 2nm node. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously connected this processor to the iPhone 18e, and his past findings indicated the handset might pack 9GB of RAM.

On the other hand, photographic enhancements look minimal. The iPhone 18e is rumored to sport a single 48MP back camera, retaining the primary sensor resolution of the iPhone 17e. Meanwhile, the front camera might get a bigger boost, with Apple reportedly swapping the current 12MP shooter for a 24MP component.

On balance, the iPhone 18e seems to present minor tweaks instead of massive overhauls. While the new processor and better front camera provide advantages, the display and rear camera specs will likely stay mostly the same.

Apple might still add other enhancements, such as an increased battery size, although specific power cell capacities remain unknown. Additional details should surface as the anticipated release window gets closer.
