Four independent directors for the Strategic Digital Wallet Company board have received approval from the Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises, meeting on Monday in Islamabad. Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb chaired the session, which included Maritime Affairs Minister Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, to set up the entity tasked with managing and safeguarding Pakistan's sovereign virtual assets.
Two independent members, featuring a female director, were also cleared by the committee to join the Pakistan State Oil Board of Management. This step rebuilds the board after the prior statutory term expired.
A plan to create the Pakistan Pharma Export Promotion Council as a Section 42 company under the Companies Act, 2017, was put on hold. The committee instructed the Ministry of Commerce to talk with involved stakeholders prior to bringing the proposal back.
In another decision, the committee greenlit the activation of the Clean Environment Fund Company under the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency by naming three independent and two ex-officio directors. This organization will aid environmental preservation, conservation, restoration, and enhancement by gathering and applying funds for ecological projects.
