Charlie Woods holed a 40-foot putt this week to secure the District Championship victory for Benjamin High School.

At Champions Club at Summerfield located in Stuart, Florida, the Buccaneers claimed the Class 1A-District 14 championship by posting a team score of 290.

Woods secured the individual championship with a 2-under 69 score, finishing one stroke ahead of his teammate Brooks Colton.

Benjamin coach Toby Harbeck stated, "We got two good rounds out of Charlie and Brooks."

Harbeck added, "Charlie made a 40-foot putt on the last hole to win the individual title. Charlie shot a 69 and Brooks shot a 70."

He noted, "That's what you want out of your No1 and No2."

Regarding the weather, Harbeck mentioned, "It played really hard, long, and windy and rainy. It was everything. So, I'm very pleased."

He also stated, "You're trying to move on each week and get to the finals, so that's what we did. We've got to keep going forward."

Golf icon Tiger Woods is the father of Charlie, who has received predictions about following his father into a professional career.

His first name, image, and likeness agreement was recently signed with TaylorMade.

TaylorMade CEO and president David Abeles stated, "We build our roster of athletes around those who are driven by the game of golf and have an unmatched desire to compete at the highest level."

Abeles continued, "Charlie epitomizes that every time he tees it up. The growth of his game over the last few years speaks for itself and we are humbled he chose TaylorMade to support him as he competes at the junior level and during his transition to collegiate golf."

Equipment used by the 17-year-old now includes a TaylorMade driver, fairway woods, irons, wedges, and golf balls.
