EasyJet confirmed plans to offer inflight WiFi for the first time by teaming up with Starlink to equip its aircraft with high-speed internet. This development makes the low-cost carrier the first in the UK to adopt Starlink WiFi, joining Wizz Air, which introduces the service next year.
Installation will take place across the carrier's A320 and A321 fleet, beginning in the first half of 2027 and finishing by early 2028. Passengers will be able to browse, game, and stream content, though pricing details remain unannounced.
EasyJet CEO Kenton Jarvis stated, "In an increasingly digital world, staying connected matters more than ever to many of our customers, whether that is holidaymakers looking to unwind with inflight entertainment, or our business customers keeping up to speed with what is happening on the ground."
Jarvis added, "Innovation is in easyJet's DNA and partnering with SpaceX to bring Starlink's high-speed internet connectivity onboard for the first time will not only further enhance the experience we provide millions of customers, but means we are offering more of the options both business and leisure travellers want when they choose who they fly with." He noted that the feature provides greater choice, convenience, and simplicity for flyers.
SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell said, "We are proud to bring Starlink onboard easyJet and transform the way their customers stay connected throughout their travels. Fast, reliable connectivity from take-off to landing means people can work, stream, or stay in touch without interruption."
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic are among other carriers currently offering Starlink in the UK.
