The Islamabad Electric Supply Company has announced scheduled power outages across parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi City and Rawalpindi Cantt on Wednesday, October 28.
According to the shutdown schedule shared by IESCO, electricity supply will remain suspended on dozens of 11kV feeders, mostly from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for annual maintenance, construction and development work, and maintenance of power transformers at grid stations.
Some feeders linked to the G-13 and I-16 grid stations will face shorter outages around midday, while maintenance on two 132kV transmission lines will continue into the afternoon.
Last week, IESCO also announced power outages in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and other areas for development projects.
Islamabad Operation Circle
In Islamabad, outages are scheduled on feeders in Bara Kahu, Murree, Patriata, Kotli Sattian and several city sectors, including F-6, F-8, G-6, G-7, G-8, G-9, G-10, I-9 and I-10. Feeders connected to the 132kV G-13 grid station will also be shut down for annual maintenance of its power transformers and bus coupler cleaning.
Separately, the 132kV Murree-Chattar Kalas transmission line will be shut down from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM for annual maintenance, affecting the 132kV Chattar Kalas and Minhasa grid stations.
Rawalpindi City Operation Circle
In Rawalpindi City, feeders in the Satellite Town, Rawalpindi City and Westridge divisions will face outages. Feeders connected to the 132kV I-16 grid station will also be shut down for annual maintenance of its power transformers and bus coupler cleaning.
The 132kV I-16-KTM transmission line will also undergo annual maintenance from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. IESCO said no grid station will be affected by this shutdown.
Rawalpindi Cantt Operation Circle
In Rawalpindi Cantt, outages are scheduled on feeders in the Mandra, Tariqabad, Rawalpindi Cantt and Rawat divisions, all from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Annual maintenance on the 132kV New Rawat-DHA transmission line will take place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no grid station affected, according to IESCO.
Earlier this month, IESCO had warned consumers of temporary power shutdowns in its region.
