A judicial magistrate prolonged the physical custody of a suspect on Monday tied to an alleged Rs. 35 billion scam involving fake online US postal labels, while also placing a second individual on initial remand.

Magistrate Naeem Wattoo evaluated Faheem Akram after a prior five-day custody period ended, alongside newly arrested co-suspect Naeem, as brought forward by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency. Both individuals will remain in physical custody until October 30 under the court directive.

Investigators from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency state that Akram ran LabelsBank.com starting in August 2023, using the portal to distribute fake US postal labels exceeding five million units.

Federal prosecutors in Florida indicted Akram through a grand jury in September 2026, according to the US Department of Justice, pointing to the sale of more than 5.1 million fraudulent labels that created damages surpassing $126 million for the US Postal Service.

American prosecutors state the portal offered these items at roughly $2 apiece, ignoring parcel weight, dimensions, or shipping destination, which prompted a US court directive to seize and deactivate the website.
