Manchester United players faced jeers from passengers on their train journey to London ahead of their fixture against Chelsea, according to reports.
The squad felt the anger of supporters at Old Trafford last weekend following a 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth.
Manager Michael Carrick kept his position because club chiefs could not agree on a replacement, and he has issued a rallying cry to turn things around.
The trip faced early issues after the team hit traffic heading to Stockport station, according to Mike Keegan from The Overlap.
This caused a seven minute delay to their planned train departing from Manchester Piccadilly.
The hostility from supporters following the Bournemouth result continued at the station.
Keegan states that passengers cheered 45-year-old Carrick when he boarded the train.
Meanwhile, several squad members received boos from the crowd.
United fans have seen little success this season during an eight-game winless run that began after September 16 against Sabah.
Speaking before the Chelsea match, Carrick addressed his future by stating, "I'm here to do my job, you know."
He added, "I'm here to do the best for the team, and I'm desperate to make us better and improve things. So, I'm not surprised, no."
Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann remain top choices to replace Carrick if he is dismissed, though club leaders are not completely convinced by available options.
Carrick disciplined team captain Bruno Fernandes by leaving him on the bench against Bournemouth.
Following clear the air discussions, Carrick plans to reinstate the club captain, stating about their relationship, "Bruno is fully committed to this football club. I've got no issues with that, we move forward."
Carrick continued, "Listen, we're clear with the situation of the team, and as a football club at the moment. As I've just said, he's an important player for this group."
He added, "He has been and he will be. Between us, we've got to make a difference and we've got to push things in a good direction."
He stated, "He's fully committed to this football club, he's fully committed to making things better. It doesn't change for me."
He concluded, "He's the one that's kind of led the team so well for many a game and many a year, and he'll continue to do that."
Manchester United's last away victory occurred during their final Premier League fixture against Brighton last season.
United previously defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last year during a period when the Blues used three different managers.
Over the past 13 matches between the two clubs, there have been 13 distinct managers and 11 different managerial pairings.
