Kylian Mbappe shared a heartwarming moment with a child who was struck by a teammate's wayward shot.

The Real Madrid forward took time to console the youngster after Aurelien Tchouameni, 26, accidentally hit him with a ball during the 51st minute against Racing Santander.

Supporters expressed concern for the young Racing fan after the incident.

Mbappe, 27, had already netted an 11th-minute penalty, and later goals from Jude Bellingham and Yan Diomande secured a 3-0 away victory.

After the match, the France captain sought to make amends on his teammate's behalf.

He spent a few moments in the tunnel with the boy, telling the child on Real Madrid TV that Tchouameni needs to improve his accuracy.

Mbappe said: "It's Tchouaméni's fault. He doesn't know how to shoot."

The child appeared upbeat as he shook hands with the striker.

Mbappe then gave the youngster a high-five and ruffled his hair before leaving.

The incident came days after Mbappe fell short as Bayern Munich's Harry Kane won his first Ballon d'Or.

Spanish broadcasters were stunned as Mbappe missed the award by just 41 points.

He was criticised for seemingly ignoring Kane at the ceremony.

Nevertheless, Mbappe let his on-field performance speak, helping Real Madrid achieve a sixth straight win and climb to third in LaLiga.
