Since starting operations in October 2025 and July 2026 respectively, Pakistan International Airlines has transported 104,845 travellers on its Manchester-Islamabad and Manchester-Lahore lines.
When the carrier first opened the Islamabad connection, it ran two flights each week. High demand later prompted an increase to four weekly trips, scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
A weekly journey to Lahore joined the Manchester schedule in July 2026, running every Wednesday. Together, both lines moved 1,541 tonnes of freight, consisting of 1,412 tonnes brought into the UK and 129 tonnes sent toward Pakistan.
Fresh produce, nuts, vegetables, medicines, textiles and garments made up the primary incoming goods. Manchester Airport Managing Director Chris Woodroofe stated that the non-stop connections link northern English communities to Pakistan and aid regional economic growth.
Bolton South and Walkden MP Yasmin Qureshi praised the comeback of non-stop journeys, noting they simplified travel for British Pakistanis and offered better options for seeing relatives.
Manchester Rusholme MP Afzal Khan similarly called the lines an advantage for area residents and the local economy. These flights offer direct links for the extensive British Pakistani population residing throughout northern England, covering areas such as Bradford and Manchester.
