Scouts from clubs throughout the Premier League say three English youngsters, Manchester City's Teddie Lamb, Tottenham's Luca Williams-Barnett and Brentford's Jai Nwosu, show the qualities, mentality and ability to follow Harry Kane's example.
Teddie Lamb - Manchester City
The 17-year-old has attracted attention since joining the Etihad, with his height, athleticism and eye for goal making him a standout in City's academy. A Bournemouth scout, whose club missed out on signing him, said Lamb has everything needed to reach the very top.
He told SunSport: "If there is ever anyone from England, it has to be Teddie. We came close to signing him last year, but he decided to move to Man City. He's only 17 and now plays for the Under-18s and Under-21s. He's one of those rare talents that you know is going all the way to the top."
Lamb spent seven years at Leyton Orient, the club where Kane made his professional debut during a loan spell from Tottenham. He models his game on the England captain and has already scored nine goals in ten appearances for City this season.
Luca Williams-Barnett - Tottenham
The 18-year-old is described as Tottenham's brightest prospect since Kane. Manager Roberto De Zerbi said, "He is a precious diamond. We have to work on him in the final third and he must work hard on his physicality. I've worked with a lot of young players in my time and he's potentially a special player."
Williams-Barnett turned 18 on October 1 and has already been named on the bench for the Premier League opener against Brentford. He is not a traditional striker; his intelligence, vision and ability to read the game have drawn comparisons with Kane. Despite injuries, he recorded a goal and an assist in 77 minutes of action across Premier League 2 and the EFL competition this season. His contract runs until 2028, and the club is keen to secure his future amid interest from major European clubs.
Jai Nwosu - Brentford
The 16-year-old striker has impressed Brentford's academy with a natural goalscoring instinct and strong physical attributes. Standing 6 ft 2 in, he can challenge defenders, drop deep to link play and hold up the ball, similar to Kane's style. Born in 2010, Nwosu has logged five goals and three assists in ten appearances across the Under-18 Premier League and Premier League Cup, despite a few injury setbacks.
All three prospects still have a long way to go, but the search for the next English striker of Kane's calibre is already underway.
