Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML) brand Telenor Pakistan earned the No. 1 spot for the third year in a row in Cybersecurity Excellence at the Telecom Cyber Security Awards 2026, organized by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The accolade underscores the firm's focus on regulatory compliance and protection of vital telecom data and infrastructure.

Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja handed the award to PTML Chief Technology Officer Awais Vohra and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Shan Haq during a ceremony that included senior government officials, the PTA Chairman, and industry leaders.

The recognition follows PTA's thorough audit and revalidation, which recorded one of the highest compliance scores in the sector for Telenor Pakistan under the Critical Telecom Data and Infrastructure Security Regulations (CTDISR). The score reflects the firm's consistent cybersecurity governance and its drive to keep strong security standards across operations.

With telecom networks forming the backbone of a growing digital economy, protecting critical infrastructure and data remains vital for reliable digital services. Ufone and Telenor Pakistan's ongoing work in this field sets a strong example for the industry.

"Cybersecurity is fundamental to building trust in a hyper-connected society like ours. We are thrilled to secure the top position for the third consecutive year, in recognition of our robust security standards, compliance with regulatory requirements, and efforts to protect critical telecom data and infrastructure. We remain committed to contributing to a more secure and resilient digital environment in the country."

Awais Vohra, Chief Technology Officer at PTML, made the statement.

The award highlights the wider significance of cybersecurity in bolstering confidence in Pakistan's telecommunications sector as digital connectivity becomes more central to businesses, institutions and everyday life across the country.
