Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has announced that Declan Rice will be the latest player to agree a long-term contract with the club.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who faces Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, is set to be out of contract after next season.
Negotiations are under way for a fresh deal that would bring his weekly pay up to the same level as Bukayo Saka's £350,000.
Arteta said, "My feeling is that Declan is very happy here. Every conversation I have with him, he wants to continue here for the long term, and it will be a matter of time until we resolve that."
Since joining from West Ham for £105 million in the summer of 2023, the England international has become a key figure for the Gunners.
The new contract at the Emirates will raise his salary from the current £240,000 a week.
In February, winger Bukayo Saka signed a long-term deal keeping him at the North London club until 2030, and French centre-back William Saliba agreed a five-year contract last September.
Last month, Arteta also signed a new deal running to 2030, doubling his earnings to £20 million a year.
Arteta, 44, maintained his confidence in Rice's performances despite the midfielder's occasional dip after returning from the World Cup with England.
"He has been very consistent again. What we demand from him every year is very difficult to do, difficult to maintain. He is doing it and big credit to him. You have big players for the big matches. We know the kind of performance we want from Dec and the rest of the boys against Liverpool, to get away from there with three points."
Arsenal, currently second in the Premier League ahead of the Liverpool match, have dealt with several injuries.
Rice, left-back Riccardo Calafiori and wingers Christos Tzolis and Noni Madueke - who missed the Carabao Cup fourth-round defeat to Fleetwood - all trained before the trip to Anfield.
